6:1 Readability

Readability:
definition form deictionary.com

Also, read·a·ble·ness. the state or quality of being readable.
2.
Typography . the property of type that affects the ease with which printed matter can be read for a sustained period. Compare legibility ( def. 2 )

I found this word in the reading from Friese and Nixon, Creating community through content area writing/ Poetry and WWII.
I liked the word and wanted to find out more about it because the definition seems to be too simple yet it encompasses all the information below and more.  I think it is important to understand this word and this information contained in the chart so that as literacy or just teachers we are better able to find appropriate texts for our students and that it is not just about the difficulty Lexile or grade level of the text but also is affected by many things.
